Frieght prices surge

Good afternoon not much happening this week very slow but prices continue to rise again as shippers cant get enough drivers. latest shipping cost from California was $12k record cost.

Lettuce and romaine will be over $60 by end of week does look great. the recall on romaine was from 10/15 so no concerns with the crops. To early to tell when prices will come down all depends on the shippers and getting enough drivers.

Tomatoes on the rise, not many coming into the market must be due to lack of demand as things are slow. still no update from growers and government on the price increase. i do have number 2 tomatoes, quality is ok with a short shelf live. 

Spanish onions are on a new crop now. they cut very nice with a slight price increase, some of last crop onions are still in the market cheaper if you prefer but very limited. red onions did happen to go down in price.

Green peppers falling in price probably the only thing that isnt crazy in price. with choice green peppers below $20. way to much supply in the market. red peppers continue to stay the same price no signs of it going up.

Crops will begin soon in Yuma Arizona and hopefully can keep up with demand. prices will most likely be down once they start in the next month. Lettuce and romaine are soon to come from there. some weather has affected the price of few items that are grown in the south but very little change.
